Network Security Lab
Overview:
The structure of the laboratory combines two different infrastructures: Windows and Linux. There are two Windows 2000 workstations and 6 Linux machines. Furthermore, there are two wireless cards and one wireless base station (Apple Airport) available. With this set of components, it is possible to set up different simulation environments in a flexible way. The purpose of this laboratory is to investigate different network security issues, such as WLAN security, security in Active Networks concerning intrusion detection, intrusion response, among others.
The current laboratory topology is depicted in this picture:
Areas of reasearch:
- WLAN security
- Security in Active Networks (FlexiNet)
- Intrusion detection and intrusion response
